Foreclosed / Short Sale (repossessed homes)

These are beginning to be in less abundance as the housing market picks up. Prices are climbing
steadily and banks have become more efficient at selling these homes.
Terms:
Short sale. This is an owner selling the home for less than he owes on the mortgage. The aim is to
negotiate with the ban with the bank to forgo his losses. These sales are seldom short and can easily
take 9 months or more to complete. Banks also have been known to get the close of the sale and say
